Wallace Senior Adults is our ministry to older adults in our church and community. Our desire is to reach out to these usually retired folks in our community who need a church family and the friendships found there. But our most important goal is to help them abolish their loneliness by coming to that forever relationship with Jesus Christ. We provide many opportunities for our community members to make friends here and begin that most important relationship. We have a senior adult covered dish lunch every other month, and a day trip on the alternate months. At our lunches we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, enjoy great conversations over delicious food, and participate in some fun and interesting programs. We have enjoyed learning about birds of prey from our Raptor center, heard a local dulcimer group in concert, learned some of our local history and legends from a local story teller, and many more. On our day trips we have been to movies, the aquarium, a tiger rescue, the NC state fair, and annually make the trip to Myrtle Beach to see one of the Christmas shows and enjoy a wonderful meal together. We also have an annual multi-day trip. Some of our past destinations have been Charleston, SC, Nashville, TN, New York City, Toronto, Canada, and New Orleans, the Ark Encounter in KY. We have a variety of Life Groups for our senior members to study and discuss the Bible together. Many meet on Sunday mornings, but some meet on Sunday afternoon and during the week. Our seniors also reach out through ministries at local nursing homes, helping with Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, our free yard sales here at the church, serving in Kids’ Cafe (our church’s after school tutoring program), and through our Hearts of Hope ministry to families in need.

We would love to have you join us for any of these activities or at one of our wonderful church services. Take a chance and get to know us! I know you won’t be sorry.
